Ellie "Soloon Girl"

This has been interesting roller-coaster competition, I have learnt and grown a lot across this past 3 week.

The goal of  project "Ellie" was to create a high quality next gen real-time character set in 1800s wild west period. As a child I was always interested in American frontier stories, a period where anything could happen. So Naturally before I began this project, I gathered a lot of reference of early American settler, environment and my main subjects "saloon girl". I wanted to get better grasp of the mood, the challenges and overall mood of that period. Through this I learnt quite a lot of fascinating information which greatly helped  in creation of Ellie. Of course, I still very much wanted to add elements from my imagination as I wanted to leave my mark on the environment. and Characters. 

Ellie backstory is unique whilst at the same time it was common for many girls &woman to experience her story. Ellie was married to Ex slave called Reeves and they lived happily for awhile, even to the point she had a baby. Unfortunately, her happiness was striped away from her when Reeves was brutally assaulted and taken away my mysterious shady organisation. Alone and with a child, Ellie had very little options like many woman in 1800 wild west. Her choices were either become lady of the night or a saloon girl. She work part time as Saloon girls whilst searching for her husband. Woman in 1800s were very  independent and strong will especially in frontier towns were day to day life was incredibly difficult. I wanted to incorporated that strong powerful survival mode whilst also showing her playful mischievous side.

I decided to box model a typical Saloon bar that a character such as Ellie would work in. I did this to add a bit of story whilst adding realism and helping capture the mood and feel of that time period.
